Possibilities of NO LIMIT! Becomes Work of Art! Giant Mosaic Art by 700 People Completed!

Work of Art Showcasing Children’s Creativity Unveiled to be Displayed at Universal-City Station from Feb. 13, 2025

On Feb. 13, 2025, Universal Studios Japan (operated by USJ LLC) unveiled the completed large mosaic created by connecting 700 pieces of artwork by children through the “ART HAS NO LIMIT!” program, a special class for children with the theme of art.

This project has been underway since December 2024 in the hope that children, the bearers of the future, will develop their creativity in the spirit of the Park’s spirit of “NO LIMIT!” (not limiting oneself.) A total of 700 children from local elementary schools, special-needs classes, and in-hospital classes participated in the project to help create the one-of-a-kind work of art. All of the children’s pieces were connected to form a single mosaic with the motif of “Doraemon” and was unveiled for the first time at the Universal-City Station.

Exhibition Information
Display Period: Thursday February 13th to Early May 2025
Display Location: Next to Ticket Gate at JR Yumesaki Line, Universal-City Station Ticket Gate (Free of charge to view)

The project was taught by an art director from USJ’s Entertainment Department, with the hope that through “art,” children will have the ability to think creatively and discover their potential with classes being conducted so the children are encouraged to express themselves in their own unique way, and to showcase their unlimited creativity. The first ever collaboration with “Doraemon” for the CSR initiative came about in conjunction with the release of the feature film, “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales” on March 7, 2025, and culminated in the creation of the over 3-meter-high giant mosaic.

A closer look at the completed “mosaic art” shows the children’s creativity, as each piece is filled with fun and thought. The children did an excellent job of expressing the message that we wanted to convey through the class of “the answer is inside of you, and your unique ideas are wonderful.”

Holding the class at Osaka Municipal Ikuwa Elementary School (Dec. 2, 2024)
A special class was held at Ikuwa Elementary School in Osaka City, where children were encouraged to create their own artwork with the theme of “My Favorite Things.” Children who took the special class commented that the class made them love drawing even more, and that It was their first time to enjoy drawing pictures this much.

Video class held at Osaka Municipal Central Medical Center (Dec. 19, 2024)
A special video class was held for children in the hospital class who are battling hard to cope with their illnesses. The children, who normally do not have the opportunity to come into contact with art, enjoyed painting lively pictures with the nurses, and the atmosphere was heartwarming.

On the day of the display, Dr. Kai Yamasaki, a pediatric hematologist/oncologist arrived early in the morning to take pictures of the completed mosaic art to show the children. In front of the artwork, they commented, “I am sure that the children will be pleased to see their artwork, which they painted so vividly that day, displayed in a place where many people can see it. I believe that being able to participate in this project will convey the joy of drawing to the children and give them the energy they need to overcome their treatment from tomorrow.”

Universal Studios Japan also advocates the CSR slogan, “LOVE HAS NO LIMIT.” In this project, we carried out the project with the belief that each child who bears the future has value and that each child has “NO LIMIT” to their potential. We will continue to promote social contribution activities that will lead to a future full of smiling children.
