Once 3,000 vouchers are sold, manufacturing of the specialty license plate begins and the plate becomes available for purchase at tax collector offices across the State of Florida.
How much does a pre-sale voucher cost?
The vouchers are $33 plus applicable state administration fees.
Will I receive a printed voucher after purchasing?
Printed vouchers are not issued. The voucher will be affiliated with your driver record in the State of Florida’s registration system and available to redeem once the plates are produced.
How will I get my specialty license plate after purchasing a voucher?
Once 3,000 pre-sale vouchers are sold and the plates are in production, purchasers will need to request the plate (at no additional cost) at the time of registration renewal or as an on-demand replacement.
Who can purchase a pre-sale voucher?
The State of Florida allows anyone to purchase a specialty plate pre-sale voucher for themselves or for another person as long as the recipient is the holder of a Florida driver license or registration.
What happens if a specialty license plate doesn’t meet the pre-sale requirements?
If a specialty license plate fails to meet the minimum pre-sale voucher requirements, refunds will be issued for the cost of the voucher only (not for administrative fees).
Once the specialty plates are in production, will pre-sale voucher purchasers have to pay any additional fees?
The voucher covers the cost of the specialty license plate for the first year of purchase. The fee will renew annually. The purpose of specialty license plates is to raise funds for a particular cause. The use of a specialty license plate is a voluntary purchase and can be discontinued at any time.
